As someone who is currently trying to practice every positivity as mentioned in this post here. I thought I would share with you a selection of quotes I try to live by. I find that some of these quotes can really put things into perspective for me when I’m feeling down, worried, stressed, or if things are working out quite the way I want them to.
♥ “Stay committed to your busy life and your heart will remain full’ – I always find that when my diary is full of work, events and social gatherings I feel more content. Sometimes I can be a flake due to my anxiety but I when I fully commit to all the things I have planned I feel so pleased and happy.
♥ “When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” – An inspirational woman, Malala Yousafzai said this in her book I am Malala. It reminded me to stand up not only for what I believe in but what is right. There are some truly awful things that happen in the world and we should always support each other and try to make the world a more peaceful place.
♥ “Comparison is the thief of joy”– This is one of my favourite quotes and I tell myself this most days. It can be so easy to compare yourself to others in every aspect of live, especially with the heavy influence of social media highlighting the apparent success of others. I find sometimes I have to step back and think about what I already have and what I take for granted. It stops me from worrying too much about how well other people are doing in life or how good they look.
♥ “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light” – Another one of my favourites, this is a quote from Albus Dumbledore , a character from the Harry Potter books. It always reminds me that there is a silver lining to everything and that instead of dwelling on the bad things to turn them into learning experiences and think about the positive.
♥ “A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regret” – This quote has taught me to be more patient with others, to also take a step back when placed in a difficult situation and really think about what you are going to say next. Saying hurtful things in the heat of the moment will only leave you feeling deflated and annoyed at yourself for not handling a situation well.
♥ “The biggest obstacle is overcoming the limited perception of yourself as that is what hold’s you in place” – Rupaul has said many great things but this quote in particular has me to reminded to have confidence in myself and my abilities. It has challenged me to look over self doubt and change certain aspects in my life so I can continue to grow positive thoughts because happiness is an inside job.
♥ “Do things that challenge you and inspire you and don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not capable” – Whenever I feel as though I am failing I look back on the all things I have achieved and how many people thought or said I couldn’t reach my goals. I love taking on challenges whether they be fitness goals, writing tasks or trying something I have never tried before. It is important to remember we are all incredible human beings capable of so much and everyone grows at different rates but we are capable of anything and good things take time.
♥ “It is ok to say no, you don’t live to please others” – It is safe to say many of us are guilty of taking on extra tasks or agreeing to do this we simply don’t have the time or energy to do. We are all constantly trying to achieve and strive to be the best but sometimes our health, social or family time is comprised in return. If you feel overloaded or overworked it is perfectly acceptable to say no. You do not have to feel guilty for putting yourself first.
♥ “Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die” – Huge thanks to Buddha for this quote. It has really helped me let go of the past especially previous relationships that have turned sour. There is no point holding onto negative energy as it has no benefits. So let go as if it costs you your peace it’s too expensive.
♥ “What is meant for you won’t pass by”– I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes no matter how hard you work or how much you wanted something it was never meant to be. When one door closes another one opens and most of the time the event that unfolds turns out to be better anyway.
