On Saturday I headed to the Strand Gallery in London to attend the Blogosphere Christmas market with fellow blogger Beth for our first ever London blogging event!
Now I was so excited but being someone who suffers from anxiety going to an event full of strangers in London is a HUGE step for me. I took my time, relaxed, completed some breathing exercises and mantras beforehand which really helped me, so I just want others to know that you can overcome it!
I had never met Beth before so we met for the first time at our local train station after discovering we both live round the corner from each other (mental) and upon meeting it was like we had been friends forever! We had so much to talk about and after a short journey we arrived in London and we were both equally eager to attend the event!
Before heading into the venue we grabbed some food and met up with another blogger (Nirvana) for lunch and a short natter before making our way to the gallery.
We were greeted by Albertine and the team from Blogosphere magazine and worked our way around the stands, one of the included brands displayed were So…? fragrance, we all reminisced about how it was a throwback to our early high school years and a reminder of those post PE lessons where one would spray themselves with So Kiss Me.
The other brands showcasing were 7th Heaven which is a popular face mask company, it was great talking to the representatives who really knew their stuff when it came to recommending certain masks for different skin types.
I’m an avid tea drink so I practically ran over to The London Tea Company stall, which had a friendly bunch of reps and they let us try out the new flavours of seasonal brews (winter wondermint is amazing) and it was really nice discovering their new blends!
Latest In Beauty had the most beautifully displayed stall with Christmas lights , mini cupcakes and a range of products that are featured in their subscription beauty boxes. On the website the company let you build your own box and tailor it to the products you want and need. I loved their new advent calendar and it was really refreshing to see a subscription company using products that are slightly bigger than miniature size so you are really getting more for your money!
Lastly Social Superstore were on hand to help set up your own online store which allows bloggers to include links and products in their posts and earn commission through this affiliate scheme. A truly great idea for us beauty and fashion bloggers!
As well as networking with brands I was also able to meet other bloggers, and it was nice to finally put names to faces that I had recognised online, and meet the bloggers that I have small talk with on social media. All the girls were so kind and it really left me feeling happy knowing that the blogging community is as supportive and wonderful in real life as it is online.
Overall I thought he event itself was intimate and actually a lot smaller than I was anticipating but because I had never been to a Blogosphere event before I wasn’t sure to expect. I suggest getting a ticket to the next Blogosphere event as the on the whole is was a relaxed and warming atmosphere and the team from Blogosphere were extremely welcoming. Thanks so much to the Blogosphere team for organising this event and thank you to all the brands that attending and gave us some amazing goodie bags!
