An Evening At The Malmaison Hotel | Brighton

April 13, 2017

I recently attended the bloggers event at the recently opened and refurbished Malmaison Hotel in Brighton Marina. I got the chance to meet up with my fellow blogging besties Beckie and Georgia and we also met up with some other lovely bloggers at the event.

We began the evening on the terrace with cocktails and we all got the chance to take some beautiful pictures and watch the sunset. The weather had been awful all day but we were so lucky the sun decided to grace us with its presence.

After mingling with the Malmaison team we all got the sample some canapés from the new Spring menu. The menu changes every season as the food is sourced within the UK so the Malmaison wants to ensure every dish compliments the season.

One the menu was thee grilled masala spiced mackerel with sweet potato and lime pickle, I’m not really a big fan of Mackerel so I left this one to the other bloggers. However my favourite dishes were the Wild Garlic Risotto with spring vegetables and pea shoots, and also the Chicken Milanese which was crispy breadcrumb chicken, rainbow chard and truffle mayonnaise.

This was followed by a grapefruit and lychee cocktail (mocktail for me) and some delicious desserts. These included the Verona chocolate brownie and the rhubarb and custard trifle with a ginger crumb topping which was so yummy.

After stuffing our faces we were shown around the hotel and we invited to see one of the rooms. The hotel has 70 rooms all of which have a unique interior. This room had a balcony overlooking the stunning view on the marina and it had the coolest printed wallpaper.

The rooms come with some lovely added extras including robe and slippers, mini bar, and some shampoo and shower gel.

After spending a while in the stunning rooms, we were then escorted to  the library; a delightful room open to both guests and non-guest of the hotel. Customers can also hire this out for private events or work meetings.

Centred in the dining area is a large table surrounded by draping curtains named ‘The Cage’. It is ideal for parties, birthdays, events or celebratory meals as the curtains can be pulled to give you ultimate privacy.

The little details in the Hotel Malmaison make it extra special. From the work and play space in the lounge to the clean and bright ladies bathroom just outside the dining area, the hotel reflects the distinctive personality of Brighton.

The entire décor of the hotel is modern, sleek and quirky. If you are headed to Brighton this year, I definitely recommend booking a stay at the Malmaison and trying their delicious menu and enjoying the incredible marina view. The food pricing is extremely affordable and on Friday evenings between 5pm and 8pm the Malmaison offer £5 cocktails!

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a goody bag at the end of the evening, it included all the information I needed to know about staying at the Malmaison and they even included a gorgeous candle from Arran Home, one of the shower gels that feature in their rooms and a Kinder Bueno! Yummy…

Thank you so much to the Malmaison team for inviting me to the event, I can’t wait to visit again soon!

Oh wow, the Malmaison looks so luxe! It’s giving me all the home interior vibes. The food sounds incredible too, garlic risotto sounds beautiful! I don’t drink so I love that they subbed the cocktail for a yummy mocktail for you too 🙂

Raise your hand if you love Christmas pjs ❤️🎅🏻 I spent most of yesterday in these as Tom was hit by the dreaded 🦠 so instead of us seeing family and me not wanting to leave him on his Larry, we had a self isolation dinner courtesy of my parents. Not an ideal scenario but like I was reminded yesterday there are definitely worse situations to be in. Still grateful I got to stuff my face and lucky to have my family ❤️ hope you all had a wonderful Christmas🎄
