Are Microdermabrasion Gadgets Worth It? | PMD Review

August 20, 2017

I love using skincare products and I’m always looking to experiment with new creams and treatments in order to achieve blemish free smooth skin. Mild acne is something I have suffered with for a few years now and I had heard of many different ‘celebrity’ style procedures including microdermabrasion but always considered it a luxury treatment that is extremely expensive.

Microdermabrasion is a form of exfoliation but has a suction device that removes the dead skin cells. It is said to make skin smoother, reduce blemishes and make your skin appear brighter. So when I was offered the chance to review it the personal home device version of this procedure I was excited.

The tool is extremely portable and includes different size exfoliating discs, including smaller ones for the face and larger ones for the body. The PMD can be considered pricey as it retails at £135, however, a treatment in a clinic would cost you around this price for one session! The PMD allows you to test a high-end procedure in your own home.

I have been using the PMD for over a month now and I have noticed a small difference. My skin feels tighter and smoother and it has reduced the smaller acne bumps significantly. I will say it is important to use the smaller and less abrasive discs first to get your skin used to this vigorous process. The tool does come with an instruction booklet and a DVD so you can learn how to use it correctly and effectively.

The PMD has also reduced my uneven patches and I think it would be suited to a variety of skin types not just oily and combination skin. It has taken a few weeks for the effects to really show and this is a tool that you should be patient with and team with a good moisturiser and facial oil.

I have enjoyed using the PMD and I’m rather surprised at the results.  It is super easy to use and the different coloured discs have various intensities depending on your skin type and how comfortable you using a more coarse disc.  I will continue to use the tool and I recommend that you consider making an investment in the PMD if you suffer from problematic skin. You can purchase the PMD here.

I've recently been using the eucalyptus bath salts from the @thenaturalspacosmetics which smell incredible! For a while now I've been using vegan and sustainable products where I can in order to be a little more eco friendly. These little pouches are made from recycled materials and are 100% biodegradable! They are also all natural and fully vegan. Just to prove that you don't need to compromise on your beauty regimes anymore by using sustainable and vegan items. Raise your hand if you love Christmas pjs ❤️🎅🏻 I spent most of yesterday in these as Tom was hit by the dreaded 🦠 so instead of us seeing family and me not wanting to leave him on his Larry, we had a self isolation dinner courtesy of my parents. Not an ideal scenario but like I was reminded yesterday there are definitely worse situations to be in. Still grateful I got to stuff my face and lucky to have my family ❤️ hope you all had a wonderful Christmas🎄
